After much pondering, and praying, I finally came up with my goals for January so I could join in with Ashley, from AP Freewriting and Megan, from The Tuckers Take Tennessee and their 3 in 30 challenge. Myself and the other participants are using #3in30 on twitter if you would like to see we are up to each day. :O)
I tried to come with some goals from different areas of my life and also ones that I thought could be easily attained, which would ultimately equal SUCCESS!
I tried to come with some goals from different areas of my life and also ones that I thought could be easily attained, which would ultimately equal SUCCESS!
Spiritual Goal: I will read my Bible every day, to coincide with my goal of reading the Bible in 90 days. I have never read the bible cover to cover and I have tried to arrange my calendar so that I read every day from 3:00 - 4:00, my computer is set to remind me each day.
Physical Goal: I will drink 3 glasses of water every day. This is a big deal for me since I typically only drink coffee, alcohol, or unsweetened cold tea. I have a thermal mug which holds 16 oz, I will keep it on the table all day, and will empty it before noon, 4pm and 8pm.
Life Style Goal: I was going to add another daily goal, but didn't want to be overwhelmed with to-dos everyday, so for this category I am planning on getting all my recipes organized. I am a recipe junkie. I have recipes cut out of magazines, folders on my old computer, recipes on a few different flash drives, bookmarks on Delicious, recipes I have printed out and put in file folders...I have started the organizational process many times, but never actually finished. I am hoping that with this 'life style' goal being completed that I will be more encouraged to make new, healthy meals for my family, along with old favorites, and not feel so overwhelmed every time I sit down to meal plan.
So there you have it, my 3 in 30 for January. What are your goals for this month?
PS ~ In case you are wondering, I am still working on my new blog design, so stay tuned!

Oh I am so bad about water too! I also have a goal of drinking water but I'm trying to get through just 2 16.9 oz bottles a day to start. I guess it's a place to start nonetheless, right?
We'll not even start about my recipe organization... :-)
You have some great goals here!
Wonderful goals Shawntele! We just wrote down our goals for 2011 (an annual family activity) and I forgot about the water one... I had been meaning to have a water goal too.
I love the recipe idea. That might be one to add for February. I've been avoiding that one too. The water issue is one I've been working on and have so far been doing pretty good. I have one large glass on the counter and keep filling it up when it's empty.
I love your goals Shawntele! I am bad about drinking water, too. I hope you have a blessed week!
Okay - I am adding drinking three waters a day to my goal of becoming the perfect housewife! I am going to fill my cup right now!
You were definitely smart to add a lifestyle goal, rather than another daily "to-do" goal. I'm already struggling to remember all my daily "to-do" goals and we're only three days into the challenge!
Cheering you on as you try to achieve these wonderful goals!! I have no doubt you can do it!! :-)
Totally failed on my first day with water. Not a drop! That means I lied in my comment above about going to fill my glass. So I am not just dehydrated, I am a dehydrated liar!
Do good intentions count at all?
Great goals! Your blog is beautiful even if it is under construction. Blessings.
These are great goals and you seem to have a great attitude to help you get them successfully completed! Good luck!
I am coming by from 3in30 link-up. Great goals. I am just staring today, so I haven't gotten all 3 goals in mind yet. Yours are giving me somethings to think on.
Shawntele,
Oh, the list! I have many lists! My husband poked fun at me the other day for my lists!! I hope you are more successful at yours than I am at mine (like another reader asks, "do good intentions count??" I just wanted to check in and say "Hey" to and to see how the B90 is going. Hope you're off to a good start!
I love how you used categories for your goals...I used to have a "weekly goals" page in a daily planner that did something similar. Fantastic goals! I'll be praying for your 90 Day Bible Challenge...I did it last fall & am a mentor this time around.
Those are great goals. I will be keeping up with you - have a great weekend.
I'm here from 3in30.
Your goals were so well planned and even categorized. I think I need to put more thought into February. I chose well enough for January, but I didn't think about how I was selecting, just sort of putting out fires.
I really like that you categorized your goals. Darn, I wish I'd thought of that! LOL! Drink that water! It's good for you. I too have lots of recipes that I mean to organize. Maybe that'll be one of my goals for next month.

Hoping in from the 3 in 30 link up.
Great goals. I am reading the bible in 90 days also.
Love the lifestyle goal. :) I should look into that one too.
Hi!! Here for 3 in 30 -- I'll be trucking right along with you on the B90Days.. we can do this! Right?! =)
Organizing recipes is on my goal list for 2011, but I'm not tackling it this month,.. maybe February. =)
Hi there
Just stopping by via the 3in30!
What wonderful goals you have set.
I too am a big coffee drinker and have to remind myself to drink more water.
Have a great one!
Water is one of my goals as well and I am struggling with drinking enough each day.
I too am using the #b90days reading plan and it is something I make sure I do each day. Not that my other goals are not important, I think it is that this is just the one that is most important to me.
Good luck organizing your recipes! Eventually I would like to go through my cookbook cupboard and get rid of some books after I find favorites and put them in my recipe program on my computer.
Have a great weekend!
(stopping by from the 3 in 30 hop)
Drinking more water should be high on my list, too.
Oh, I need to get my recipes in order as well. Hmm... maybe next month. I have enough on my plate this month with my other goals. lol!
The Bible in 90 Days is a great program. I did it last year. Don't forget that you can do the audio Bible if you feel like you can't get all of the reading done. I would listen to the Bible while I worked on busy days. :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Very good goals. I will be praying you drop the alcohol in addition to adding water. Maybe the Bible readings will help with that.
I'm so glad that you're joining in the 3 In 30 challenge. I loved reading your post and am so excited to continue to connect over the next year! Continue the good work!

Joining you for 3 in 30 challenge..we share the water goal. I had no clue all the health issues that could be related to not having enough water. My choice of beverage is tea or Gatorade. I came to the conclusion I can actually make progress w/ this goal by using a smaller cup. I have an 8oz Starbucks thermos and I can drink it up in a couple min. When I used the bigger one I got discouraged and would also forget I was even drinking it after getting busy. I down 8oz a couple times an hour. So if the big thermos doesn't work try a smaller one :)
