God opens doors...

...and shuts them.  As much as you try to line up the cards so things will turn out the way that you want them, as promising as it may look, the doors can be closed, again and again.  So, you make a slight adjustment in your plans and you try again down another path...and then you wait.  Trying to not be impatient because there are bills to pay, arrangements to be made, details to be finalized.  All the while trying to figure out what it is that He wants from you, what do you have to do in order for something to happen, anything would be better than the unknown, the waiting, the indecision.

God is good...

Music Monday ~ Forgive Me

This week had passed in a blur, and with a sigh I am dreading that April is almost over.  The pressure I am feeling is nothing new to me, it is something that comes with another impeding move in our future.  If things go as planned we will be packing up and heading out at the end of May - and I have not packed one thing yet, let alone found a place for us to live.  I have let our lessons get shorter and shorter since Cowboys Fan started working the afternoon shift, last week was nothing but math, spelling/vocabulary, and literature, with a little football and swimming lessons thrown in.  I finished reading Twilight and New Moon, clearly spending too much time with my nose in books that are 'twaddle', but oh so good...There are a few more areas in my life that I am falling short and I won't bore you with the details, suffice to say that when I heard this song this morning it was one of those 'aha' moments.  My sins are many and I am thankful for God's forgiveness and grace.  This video is a live recording of Rebecca St. James and Barlow Girl singing Forgive Me.  I hope you enjoy it, they are amazing together!

For all the times I’ve failed You, Lord
Forgive me
For all the ways I’ve fallen short
Lord, forgive me now
God, I’m so in need of grace
I fall upon my face
Forgive me

You see the tears fall down my face
Forgive me
Take my fear, Lord, take my shame
Lord, forgive me now
Purify me, make me new
Like only You can do
Forgive me now

Lord, we come to honor You
We are forgiven
We bring our love and thanks to You
We are forgiven now

God we praise You for Your grace
Before You we are raised
Forgiven
God we praise You for Your grace
Before You we are raised
Forgiven
Forgiven

Music Monday ~ Nuisance

It's a beautiful Monday here in Utah - the sun is shining, the sky is blue and the birds are chirping, I love spring days like these. Today I am sharing a song that has been playing in my head all week, Nuisance by John Reuben, definitely a song to get you moving - enjoy!

So here we are in this same old spot
Knowing something needs to happen but our mouths are locked
Tongue tied closed tight sealed shut yup
I tried hard but it just wouldn't come up
It's on the tip of my tongue it's in the front of my mind
Yet the words were still so hard to find
Finally the reality of things to come pushed me to the edge
I jumped off the cliff into the abyss as I said

chorus:
I'm not trying to be a nuisance
I just think we can do better than this
that was simply my two cents
you can you can take it or leave it

The conversation lingered on and on and
Before I knew it night had turned to dawn and
Were we searching for the truth in all of it
Or are we debating just to win the argument
Cuz none of us want to hear about where we go wrong
This song could easily be from me to you or me to John
Cuz I have the potential to be the guiltiest
My greatest strength is also my strongest weakness

(chorus)

Let's think about this path that we're taking
Let's think about this future we're creating
Let's think about this life that is fading
Think about it, come on think about it now
Let's think about this time that we're spending
Investing in monetary things that are ending
Let's think about it and let's think together
And let's think about what we can do to make it better

(chorus)

We can, we will do better than this
We can, we will do better than this.

I don't know many Christians who haven't at some point heard Chris Tomlin's music, or his song Made to Worship. In this video he shares a bit about the song, plays a few chords and teaches them as well. Impromptu music lesson with the kids coming right up!!

I am happy to be back sharing my heart for music today, won't you join me?

Enjoying our Trip

We made it safe to Denver despite icy roads and light snow. There were many accidents the way and I am so thankful for God's watchful eye. We are tired and loaded up on chocolate Easter bunnies! Tomorrow will be filled with passport applications, apartment and house hunting, shopping and dinner at John Elway's restaurant. I will not be posting Music Monday tomorrow - I need a break this week and plan on spending every spare moment with my nose in a book - I almost finished The Time Travellers Wife on the way down and expect to quite wrapped up in Twilight by tomorrow. This is the life!!
