Music Monday ~ Happy Birthday

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, it is Music Monday, a day where I invite my fellow bloggers to share their love of music. For those of you that are new to the meme, welcome and thank you for joining us.  The guidelines for Music Monday can be found here and for your convenience I have added the button code to the sidebar on the left.

Since my post on Saturday I have since learned that what is clear to me in my writing is not necessarily clear to those who are reading! Today I celebrate my 37th birthday, and because it is a celebration I will be spending the day doing some things that I love! I will play games with my children, I will talk with my friends and 'work' on The Homeschool Lounge, I will enjoy a glass, or two, of wine with Cowboys Fan and go out for dinner with my family. I will read more of My Life in France and color with my favorite Prismacolor pencil crayons. How I am looking forward to it!

Thank you for the birthday wishes you left me on my last post, they made me smile. In honor of that, I hope that the song I am sharing today will make you smile as well, even if it is a little self-indulgent!!

Why I Love February 13th!

Every year it is the same thing.  Either after work, or like this year, first thing in the morning, Cowboys Fan goes off to presumably 'wash my car' and  perform other 'husband errands', as I like to call them.  Then a few hours later there is knock at the door and when I open it, I am ushered away into one of the other rooms.  Giggles and laughter ensue, and I can hear the hushed whispers from my family.  Finally, after much excitement on my part, I am summoned out into the kitchen...to the one day of the year when I will be totally surprised.

This year, it was a box of Godiva chocolates, my favorite kind with nuts and caramels (just for me), and a package of chocolate covered almonds (these I will share).   A vase of roses with the cutest little stuffed animal hanging on to it for dear life, two bottles of wine (one for Valentines Day and one to enjoy on my birthday).  There was also a lovely Valentines Day card signed by the whole family, professing their love for me, and a birthday card from my husband, the mushy kind that always makes me cry.  A beautiful glass bear with an 'I Love You' in its hands, and a Webkinz Love Lion.

I was utterly spoiled.  Everything was indeed a splurge, nothing at all that is any way useful or frugal.  That is what makes this day special each year, my dear husband goes out of his way to make me feel cherished.  I guess because Valentines Day is the day before my birthday he goes all out, I don't know.  But I do know that I love it, and that I am loved!

Video for the song, "Born Again", the title track off the newsboys new record which releases June 8th, 2010. This video was shot just outside Tijuana, Mexico in the Baja penninsula, where the newsboys will be taking friends and fans this summer to embark on one of the biggest home building projects ever to support the poverty stricken people of the Baja. For more information on how you can be a part of this historic trip text "GO" to 77812.

I found myself looking into the mirror
Knew I wasn't who I wanted to be
I was living like the way that I wanted
But my eyes reminded me I'm not free.
Believed that I saw everything that I know
Says I got to go, tired of going solo
But I'm never gonna go there again.

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didn't want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I'm not the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything that's left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

I see you walking like your living in fear
Having trouble even looking at me
Wishin' they would give you more than words
Sick of people telling how it should be (how it should be)
Whats your download, where'd you get your info, you saw that I'm show now your in the inload
Gonna tell you what I believe

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didn't want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I'm not the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything that's left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

We are the ones they call by name
(I'm never gonna look back)
Let go let go the guilt the shame
(Said I'm never gonna look back)
This is who I am

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didn't want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I'm not the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything that's left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

Music Monday ~ I Sings

Photobucket

Thank you for joining me for Music Monday, meme guidelines and THE BUTTON are here.

There is something about Monday morning, the start of a new week and a do-over, that is refreshing to me.  Last week Sunshine and myself took our turn with the head cold so not much was accomplished by way of homeschooling, or anything else for that matter,  and I am praying this week will be more productive.  I am still trying to kick it, but am thinking to day will be another sick for us.  I am wondering who homeschool moms call for a substitute when they want to take a sick day...I figure the pay is the same either way, right??!!??

On that note, something to get you (and me) moving today, Mary Mary and B.B. Jay singing I Sings.

Until next week, I hope you take time each day to enjoy the music!

Keep moving, keep moving
Keep moving, keep moving

[BBJ]
Yo from the Brooklyn Bridge to the woods of Holly
I roll like Tonto, Houncho Kimosabee
Butta's still here
No doubt I'm thankful Mommy
Life's beautiful
I'm laying back like a cuticle (Whoo!)
Past behind me, present look pleasant
Future the bomb
Far beyond I'm headed
Big Butta J-A-Y uh
Oh my Lord
Ain't nobody touching
So I still ain't tried

[Mary Mary]
Back when I was a little child it wasn't easy
Mama didn't always have a job
To take care of me
But I love her cause she tried so hard to do her best
But when she fell short God did all the rest
That's why...

I sing about what He's done
For me it's been so much
That I couldn't even tell it if I tried
I sing just to let the whole world know
That we've all got something to
Be grateful for so lift your voice

Couldn't possibly remember all
The things that You've done
In my life I've seen some weary days
But with You I've overcome
Why wouldn't I say yes to You
When You gave Your life for me
Now I'll give mine to You
And I'm gone tell everybody

I sing about what He's done
For me it's been so much
That I couldn't even tell it if I tried
I sing just to let the whole world know
That we've all got something to
Be grateful for so lift your voice

You don't know like I know
What He's done for me
(What He's done for me)
Take a look at your life and you too will see
(You will see)
There ain't no way we've come this far all by ourselves
(By ourselves)
Many blessing great and small
Now let's take some time and that Him for them all

[BBJ]
Big Bro J-A-Y, you know I stay fly with my husky self
Mustard seed faith manifest mustard seed wealth
(Tis the season)
To open your vocals and go loco for do lo
I'm mad grateful cause the Merciful is faithful
Trials come but it's all good cause it makes you
It's not contrary, with the way Mary Mary
Carry these notes Baby Dubb
(Coast to coast)
Who rocks the party?
(BBJ rocks the party)
Who gets you hype?
(Mary Mary all night)
Ice shine bright like stars at twilight
Mary Mary get you wide open show you right
B to the B J-A-Y you know who
Hate to say I told you so but I told you
When it comes to this groove you got
To get up off the wall and hit the dance floor boo

I sing about what He's done
For me it's been so much
That I couldn't even tell it if I tried
I sing just to let the whole world know
That we've all got something to
Be grateful for so lift your voice
