Music Monday ~ God of Wonders

Photobucket

God is good! There are so many things I have to be thankful for, although Angel caught Daddy's cold and the Vikings lost their football game yesterday (bye-bye Super Bowl) I am finding so much joy in the day to day of my life. I am embracing all that comes my way knowing that it is all for God's glory. God is good!

Today for your listening pleasure I am sharing yet another favorite song of mine, God of Wonders performed by Third Day's Mac Powell and Cliff and Danielle Young from Caedmon's Call.

Lord of Heaven and Earth
(Lord of all creation)
Lord of Heaven and Earth

Lord of all creation
Of the water, earth and sky
The Heavens are your Tabernacle
Glory To the Lord on high

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe
Declares your majesty
You are holy, holy

Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
And when I stumble into darkness
I will call your name by night

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe
Declares your majesty
You are holy, holy

Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)

Holy, holy
Holy, holy

God of wonders
Beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy

Precious Lord,
Reveal your heart to me
Father hold me, hold me

The Universe
Declares your majesty
You are Holy, Holy
Holy, Holy

Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)
Hallelujah (to the lord of heaven and earth)

What I Learned This Week

It has been a trying few weeks for me. My Grandfathers passing, not speaking with my brother since hearing the news. Little Man's computer getting a virus, our printer breaking, Cowboys Fan coming down with a head and chest cold...I don't really want to share more than this, like that isn't enough to warrant me questioning "why"?!!? I know that it is times like this that bring me to my knees and cause Satan to weave his way into my life even more.

In all the drama I have learned a couple things that are not necessarily new ideas to me, but the points hit home this week.

~ What works for other homeschooling families will not necessarily work for mine. My family and our circumstances are different from everyone else; it is fine to listen to ideas and suggestions but ultimately God will lead the way we are to travel.

~ God is performing a work in me, as a wife and mother, as a teacher, and as a uniquely and wonderfully made daughter of the Creator. My walk is my own and God knows exactly where I am headed and what He has planned. It will come to pass, just as he has decided it will.

This is what I have been meditating on:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13 KJV

This is what I have been focusing on with the children:

I Am, I Can, I Ought, I Will

Music Monday ~ Never Alone

Photobucket

I apologize for not visiting you all last week; I have been saddled with a 'funky mood' that I have been unable to shake. I almost didn't post today either, but decided to take a step forward and come back to the real bloggy world. Thank you for all your prayers, they are so appreciated.

The song I am sharing with you today is an old favorite of mine, Never Alone by Barlow Girl.

A friendly reminder that Music Monday guidelines are here and Simply Linked is at the bottom of this post. Have a blessed day my friends.

I waited for you today
But You didn't show
No.No.No.
I needed You today
So where did you go?
You told me to call
you said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?

Chorus
I cried out with no reply and
I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I'm never alone.

And though I can not see You
and I can't explain why.
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life oh
We cannot separate
'Cause You're part of me
and though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen

Chorus
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I'm never alone

We cannot separate
You're part of me
and though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen

Chorus
I cried out with no reply
and I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I'm never alone

Music Monday ~ Goodbye For Now

Photobucket

It is with a heavy heart that I type today's post. I found out yesterday that my Grandfather passed away over the weekend. Although we had grown apart since my parents divorce I am aching for my Dad's loss and even more from my Grandma. I don't know how long she was married to my grandfather for, but that they were married at a young age and were the kind of couple that I admire and want to be like with Cowboys Fan when we are old and grey.

My music choice for today is Goodbye For Now by Kathy Troccoli, I came across this beautiful song when trying to decide what was on my heart for this morning. As always Music Monday guidelines are here and Simply Linked is at the bottom of this post. Have a peaceful day my friends.

From the song ...

But there will be a time
When I'll see your face
And I'll hear your voice
And there we will laugh again
And there will come a day
When I'll hold you close
No More tears to cry
'Cause we'll have forever
But I'll say Goodbye for now

Happy New Year

After enjoying a bit of a computer break over the holiday I was anxious to get back to my google reader and catch up on my blog reading. BIG mistake! I logged in last night to see the number of updates sitting in the quadruple digits, oh my gosh! So I did what any God fearing, trying to be a better wife , mother and teacher, full of hope for the new year, resolutions and all type of gal would do...DELETE! I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders each time I hit unsubscribe. I still have many more to go through; I will continue to unsubscribe in hopes of paring down my list to the blogs of those who have become my friends, those who are interested in blogging together and forming that ever elusive relationship. Yes, my peeps, I want to have relationships! For those of you who look at the numbers, you will notice that my list of followers will be dwindling as I block those who have not commented and those whom I have no idea who they are. I will also be weeding through the list of blogs I follow to include only those which I am inspired and encouraged by, and which I hope my readers will also visit.

I pray this year will be wonderful renewal for me, and this is just the start.

Happy new year!

Music Monday ~ Whatever You're Doing

Photobucket

It's time again for Music Monday, the first one of 2010! If you would like to play along please read the guidelines I posted, I would love to have you join me.

Seeing as it is the start of a new year, and for many that means a time for resolutions and starting anew, I am sharing a song that fits this time of year perfectly, for me anyway! Sanctus Real performing Whatever You're Doing:

It's time for healing time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
Time make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
All I can do is surrender

(Chorus)
Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
but I'm giving in to something heavenly

Time for a milestone
Time to begin again
Re-evaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow your will
or just climbing aimlessly over these hills
So show me what it is you want from me
I give everything I surrender...
To...

(Chorus)

Time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to to release all my held back tears

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life something heavenly

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but now I can see
This is something bigger than me
Larger than life something heavenly
Something heavenly

It's time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
