Why I Love February 13th!

Every year it is the same thing.  Either after work, or like this year, first thing in the morning, Cowboys Fan goes off to presumably 'wash my car' and  perform other 'husband errands', as I like to call them.  Then a few hours later there is knock at the door and when I open it, I am ushered away into one of the other rooms.  Giggles and laughter ensue, and I can hear the hushed whispers from my family.  Finally, after much excitement on my part, I am summoned out into the kitchen...to the one day of the year when I will be totally surprised.

This year, it was a box of Godiva chocolates, my favorite kind with nuts and caramels (just for me), and a package of chocolate covered almonds (these I will share).   A vase of roses with the cutest little stuffed animal hanging on to it for dear life, two bottles of wine (one for Valentines Day and one to enjoy on my birthday).  There was also a lovely Valentines Day card signed by the whole family, professing their love for me, and a birthday card from my husband, the mushy kind that always makes me cry.  A beautiful glass bear with an 'I Love You' in its hands, and a Webkinz Love Lion.

I was utterly spoiled.  Everything was indeed a splurge, nothing at all that is any way useful or frugal.  That is what makes this day special each year, my dear husband goes out of his way to make me feel cherished.  I guess because Valentines Day is the day before my birthday he goes all out, I don't know.  But I do know that I love it, and that I am loved!
