Music Monday ~ Who Am I

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

Music Monday ~ How You Live

Oops, with all my rambling going on I almost forgot it was Monday!
This song is performed by Point of Grace, one of the most talented female vocal groups I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. How You Live (Turn Up the Music) recently won the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year.
Enjoy, and don't forget to let me know what you think! Photobucket

A Week of Reflection

I have spent the last week thinking about what exactly I am trying to accomplish through our homeschooling endeavor. Although I know all the reasons why we are homeschooling, I am still unsure how we will manage to accomplish what we have set out for. Quite frankly, it is stressing me out! I want to educate my children the natural way, with a classical flair, unfortunately organization isn't my strong suit. I am full of wonderful ideas (and they just keep on coming), but the implementation is lacking. Did I say I was stressed out?!!? I would love to try a unit study, do some note booking, continue with the copy work (another great idea we started but are not doing right now), but just figuring out how do manage with three different ages has me stumped. Is it possible that we (Little Man) still need de-schooling after seven months? Can you tell me how to make this exciting for Sunshine who says she wants to go back to public school when we move this summer because she doesn't want to learn 'all this boring stuff' (K12 curriculum)? Why is Angel not fluent when reading out loud and still asking to spell words that she should already know? My heart is saying 'relax' it will all come together, so that is what I am trying to do. I am worried though that I have become too nonchalant, to the point of not doing enough, almost rebelling the system and all that the world is saying we should be doing by doing nothing at all.
Not too good of a plan is it?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

More Favorite Music ~ Lose My Soul

Last week when I posted one of my favorite songs Sunshine suggested that it was Music Monday...well it stuck and I thought that each Monday I will add another of my favorite songs. This led me to reflect on how my taste in music has changed so much over the years. Madonna used to be one my favorite singers, I GASP at the thought of my girls idolizing her like I did. Now I prefer to listen to uplifting and encouraging music, with the occasional 80's or Bon Jovi thrown in for fun! So this weeks song is called Lose My Soul and whenever I hear tobiMac sing this I am encouraged to not be tempted by earthly things, and to keep my eyes up, always up. :)

I love to read your comments, so while you're here why don't you let me know what you think and share one of your favorite songs.Photobucket

My Recipe Collection ~ BBQ Chicken Pizza

This is a another new recipe that I tried, BBQ Chicken Pizza. Everyone gave it their stamp of approval so I am adding it to my collection. Next time to make it even quicker I will use grilled chicken breast strips (already cooked and cut) to save the cooking time and the clean up. :)

1 Boboli Pizza Crust
11/2 cup BBQ sauce, more or less as desired
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 can pineapple chunks, drained
2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Marinate chicken in one-half cup BBQ sauce. Cook on medium to high heat, about 4 minutes on each side, or until no longer pink inside. Allow chicken to cool and cut into bite-size pieces.

Add remaining cup of BBQ sauce to pizza crust. Then add cheese, chicken, pineapple, and onion slices. Bake according to pizza crust instructions.
