My Favorite Song ~ Get Up

With all the favorite songs I have been hearing over at The Homeschool Lounge I thought I would put out a few of my favorite. :) Cowboys Fan bought me the latest Mary Mary cd for my birthday and track three has quickly become my fave; Get Up is so encouraging I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well. Encouragement

I am encouraged because...

  • I know where ever we go the Lord will use it to His purpose and for His goodness

  • we have a place to call home even if it does not belong to us

  • we have wonderful memories made from the time we lived in our house

  • Cowboys Fan is so awesome that he went to the store late last night just to be sure we would have enough milk for today

  • our dining room has three bookshelves overflowing with books for us to enjoy

  • today is a new to day and with God's guidance I will get organized again!

  • (see above)there are many wonderful people I have met online that are sharing their ideas with me

  • Little Man reminded me today that he has learned so much with his math, things that no one took the time to help him with in years past, yaay!

  • I trust that my children are learning and if I am faithful with my teaching and providing them great opportunities they will continue to learn

  • I have an opportunity to lead my children by example

  • Cowboys Fan works so hard so that I can be home with our children and that he is supportive of our homeschooling adventure

  • I trust with the Lord's help we can all learn just the way He designed us to learn, which ever way may be the best for us

  • today is a new day, I can try again, and He is patiently waiting for me to come along side Him

  • I am able to type and that I have a computer and access to the internet and a lonely few who may read my craziness and not judge me

I am blessed!

Frustration

I am frustrated because...

  • in three months and five days we are moving...and we are still unsure where the Lord is leading us

  • we are still renting, and after being in this country for almost seven years I had hoped we would have settled down and bought a house again (see below)

  • I miss my house :(

  • three hours ago there was 3/4 of a jug of milk in the fridge (enough until tomorrows Costco trip) and now there is less than a quarter ~ grrrr

  • when I look at our dining room classroom all I see is clutter, not that it is messy, just unorganized (see below)

  • I am unorganized, I get everything sorted and arranged and within two weeks it is not where it is supposed to be (see below)

  • I get great ideas for our homeschooling, we get started on them...and then two weeks later they fall by the wayside

  • I think that maybe my kids would get a better education in public school (see below)

  • I know my children are learning, but is it enough?

  • the kids wait for me to tell them what they need to do for the day, even after I have given them a list of lessons (see below)

  • I didn't realize homeschooling was going to be this hard, this time consuming, this challenging...at least not every day!

  • I believe in natural learning, Charlotte Mason, even unschooling...but I am not sure that we can ever get there

  • I am not spending enough time in His word, spending enough time with Him, learning from Him and what He has planned for me and how I can be the wife and mother He wants me to be

  • I am so frustrated and irritated and the only thing I could think to do is type some of it out for the world to read, thinking I may feel better afterward...

I don't!

3000 Miles in Six Days

Road trips are so much fun! We had an uneventful trip up through Idaho and Montana, but the kids were excited to get back to their home town; Calgary has grown so much since we left. We arrived on the tail end of a blizzard, and were ill prepared with our sneakers and sweat jackets. But the cold frigid weather didn't slow us down. We headed even further north to see more family and then across to BC driving through the largest pass in Canada, praise God for clear roads. I was so happy to see my Grandpa again, and I sat at his feet as long as I could listening to his stories. I wish we didn't have to leave so soon. We then headed South again, spent a few hours in Spokane checking thing out for our tentative move and headed back home. What a rush!!

Blog Renovations Are Complete

Ta Da! We are done with the renovating (I hope). The kids and I had a lot of fun learning about HTML and blog design; we had no idea how much work and coding goes into each 'pretty' design page we click on when we are browsing the web! As much fun as it was, I we decided that it will be a looong while before this layout changes.
