I need to be careful to realize that the earthly things I covet may not be wrong in themselves, but if I look to them to give me happiness or contentedness then they are not for the glory of God, but prideful. The people of Shinar purposely tried to avoid God's command to spread out and fill the whole Earth (Gen 9:1) by building their tower. God made a swift judgment against their rebellion and pride and made it clear that He is to come first.

That's a great message...thanks Shawntele...a good one to remember.
I will continue to follow your journey and pray for you as you read the Bible chronologically...I quickly realized that this is not how God is calling me to read His word...my family is more of a type that reads it according to "where we are at the moment" in our daily needs...we bounce around from Old to New Testament as we feel moved...I think I'd better stick with that as it works well for us.
Blessings to you as you continue this journey! I look forward to your posts throughout :)
It is good to be able to hear the voice of God what He has planned for you and your family. This a big commitment for me, although it does seem a small and easy task, it is something I have struggled with. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement my friend.
I've enjoyed reading with you and the ladies, Shawntele.
This reading was good to remind me not to get too comfortable in my own 'little world'. I need to keep my eyes focused outward on God and His creation.
