Our Homeschooling Endeavors

We have been working on our first lapbook, something I have been wanting to try for a while but have procrastinated on because I was unsure how to make it work for my son as well as the girls. So far it is going well; we are learning about the middle ages, knights and castles in particular, and it has been great fun.

Sunshine and Angel have nearly completed their fourth and second year math lessons and Little Man is about 3/4 through his second pre-algebra book this year. Hard workers that they are though have no intentions of 'finishing' up our school year anytime soon. We will continue with copywork and typing lessons as well as start our nature studies, another thing I have procrastinated!

My mom sent me The Original Homeschooling Series by Charlotte Mason a couple of weeks ago and the books have been sitting on the shelf patiently waiting for me to have some quiet tome to delve into them. From what I have glanced through and heard I am expecting some heavy but very enlightening reading.

I can't wait to see where these books will take our homeschooling adventures. Photobucket

You will have go keep me posted with what you find out about what plans you have for next year. It was really great getting to know you today. Did you go the Utah Rennesaince Festival a few weeks ago??

Sadly we missed the festival, we just didn't get organized in time. I am sure it would have been a great accompaniment to our studies. :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog Shawntelle! I sent you an invite to my private family blog as well. It was so fun to meet you and I hope you and your cute kids come again.

I would love to see how you did your lapbook...I've looked at some and have thought that I should also give it a try some time!

Aly, you found me ~ yaay! Although Sunshine was a little shell shocked we all had fun and are planning on seeing you again next week. :)

I was also thinking about sharing pictures of their lapbooks when they are completed, and you just gave me the motivation to do so, thanks!
